Nature is at its busiest in spring

Sorry I haven't written in a while, but having a one year old, a two year old, a husband, a house and a business to run can sometimes even be a bit much for those superhumans called Mothers. We all know that feeling. So for my sanity I have decided to just write and update you all on a monthly basis!

Spring is coming and so is our new collection! It’s that time of year when everything in nature is changing and promising new life and new hope. After the long, dark, winter months, spring is literally a breath of fresh air. And as the days get longer, the nights get shorter, and it starts to feel warmer, nature responds in a big way. So step outside and be rewarded with a crescendo of bird song, a display of flowers bursting into colourful life and the welcome sight of animals not seen since last year. Here at Babybamba our new prints and muslin comforters are being made in the warehouse at the moment, we are so excited for the delivery! Let me remind you all of some of the eco-benefits our products provide, as they're all made with bamboo fabrics, So Why do we use bamboo and what are the benefits to the planet?

-Bamboo is 100% Biodegradable
-Bamboo only needs rain water to grow, therefore no additional water is required
- Bamboo grows naturally without chemicals

As this time of year always reminds us of new life, with flowers starting to grow and baby animals about to be born, it reminds me of how lucky we have been to create two beautiful, healthy little children, after being told we wouldn't be able to do it NATURALLY! but yet we did. It is also a huge reminder that three years ago I had a negative result from our first and only IVF, I remember the pain of it all, the physical and emotional pain that goes with it. The whole experience was not what I wanted it to be, with people asking, "How are you?”, and when you're going through infertility treatment, not many know the answer, I don't even think I knew myself. Walking down the street I would automatically look at someone pregnant or someone with a pram and say to myself, how can she have it and I cant? Then on top of that was the constant reminders on social media, yes my dear friends, you have cute kids but right now I don't want to see it, I don't want to like it. When I would be voicing my opinion to others, ’Don’t worry you're still young’, people would say, but the truth was my uterus was a war zone, it had nothing to do with my age! Its my condition, my endometriosis that has invaded my baby making machine causing all these fertility problems! The Bastard.

The latest facts and figures about endometriosis.

• 1 in 10 women of reproductive age in the UK suffer from endometriosis.
• 10% of women world wide have endometriosis - that’s 176 million worldwide.
• The prevalence of endometriosis in women with infertility be as high as to 30–50%

When having IVF My life turned into the movie Private Life, a film by Tamara Jenkins on Netflix (A good watch for those who can relate!) The film walks us through their process of trying to become parents "by any means necessary" with such a delicate accuracy that there were moments I, an IVF-veteran, wasn't sure I could keep watching. My heart accelerated through all the scenes of waiting, by the phone and at the doctor's office, the injections, the treatment plans, the maybe, maybe, maybes, and sorry, sorry, sorrys. I also recognised Rachel's largely unacknowledged resilience. It didn't surprise me to learn that Jenkins had been through much of this herself.

After that failed IVF, I did manage to fall pregnant a few months later naturally, then once I had my first child I knew that falling pregnant again close after the birth would be much easier than waiting for a gap between them, which did thankfully happen.
